CALL FOR ARTISTS: NORTHERN ARt, SHEFFIELD, 18th DECEMBER

CALLOUT FOR ARTISTS: SHEFFIELD, DECEMBER 18TH
We are looking for artists to be a part of the 7th Northern Art Festival! We have taken a break over the summer and are now looking for four performances to be a part of the next festival.

When and where? Friday 18th December in Sheffield, at Theatre Delicatessen’s Old Woolworths on The Moor.

What? We’re looking for performances: live art, theatre, music, dance, spoken word – anything, so long as it’s live, and you’re based in the North. Please email livecharlottetim@gmail.com with the following information by Monday 2nd November
We will then respond to you with our decision by Wednesday 4
th November.
-Your name/company name

-Your contact details

-The names of everyone involved in your performance
Who you are: what you do, how you work, who you hope to reach, what your ethos is.

The performance you’d like to do. What inspired it, what’s it like to watch or experience? Why is it exciting? It doesn’t need to be something you’ve already performed, or even already created, but you’ll need to explain it more clearly if it’s only an idea at this point.

Evidence of your work. This can be video or sound recordings, reviews, photos, pieces of writing, or anything else that lets us know what your work is like. It can be work you’ve done in the past, as well as the piece you’re proposing. Links are easier than attachments. (Attachments are still fine.)

The technical requirements of your show. Be specific and clear: do you need a certain kind of lighting, a sound system, a certain kind of space? Make sure we know everything: for example, if you need a stand for your microphone, please include that in your requirements rather than assuming that we’ll know you need one.

Your availability on the day of the festival and the day after, to help with the get-in and get-out. The space must be left exactly how you found it: if you are unable to get out of your space on the night of the festival, you will be required to come back the next day to do so.

Anything else we should know. Access requirements for you or your performance? What’s the minimum age for your piece? Can you help us put the festival on in any way beyond performing?

Requirements: You’re available for the day of the festival, Friday 18th December, and the get-out, Saturday 19th December. You’re a new or emerging artist or company. (Unless you can already pay the bills on your art alone, you should be fine.)

Further information:
Money: All performances are pay-what-you-decide: all of the donations will be pooled and split between all artists /companies. We can’t pay you for performing or give you money towards your performance budget. We will try to support you as much as we can, but you’ll need to be as self-sufficient as possible.

Duration: your performance will need to fit into a 20 – 30 minute slot, though we will consider durational performances. If it’s a shorter piece, you might consider repeating it several times to fill one such slot.

Coming and going: be prepared for audiences to enter and leave your piece at times other than the start and the end.
